Today marks a pivotal moment in the marine bioprospection field, as the EUREMAP project takes its maiden voyage. This groundbreaking initiative is set to transform the landscape of marine resource discovery, promising many innovations and advancements in the field.

The EUREMAP Pipeline

At its core, EUREMAP aims to establish a comprehensive pipeline of advanced research services, that will encompass a wide range of offerings, spanning the entire biodiscovery process. From isolating specific molecules and testing their applications in clinical trials, these services will be available to researchers from academia and industry alike.

This never-seen-before pipeline seeks to boost the rate of marine biodiscovery, strengthening the Blue Economy in Europe and beyond.

A Research Partnership Like No Other

EUREMAP brings together four esteemed European research infrastructures: EMBRC, EMBL, ELIXIR Europe, and EU-OPENSCREEN. With each institution contributing unique expertise and capabilities, EUREMAP forms a formidable alliance dedicated to unlocking ocean resources.

From Scientists to Scientists

This project lies in its multidisciplinary team, comprising expert researchers from over 10 institutions. These scientists boast a track record in various domains crucial to marine bioprospection, including data management, chemical biology, industry engagement, and public outreach.

Pillars of Collaboration & Innovation

EUREMAP’s success hinges on its commitment to collaboration and innovation. The project is focused on maximising service standardisation, improving collaboration and networking and integrating cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices. to maximise the impact of its discoveries while minimising its ecological footprint.
