This intensive programme combines morning plenary sessions with hands-on afternoon activities, offering a unique opportunity to learn from leading researchers and industry pioneers. You will explore the entire marine biodiscovery pipeline — from genes to applications — while engaging with international experts and companies at the forefront of blue biotechnology.

Weekly Journey:

🔹 Day 1 – Marine Bioprospecting
Discover systematic approaches to identify bioactive compounds for health, food, and industry.
Afternoon: Hands-on bioinformatics session on BGC identification.

🔹 Day 2 – EUREMAP Project & Company Visit
Learn about the EUREMAP project and its network of European research infrastructures.
Afternoon: On-site visit to Arterra Bioscience S.p.A., a biotech company.

🔹 Day 3 – Waste Valorization & Meet the Companies
Lectures on marine waste valorization, circular economy, and projects like Waste2Taste • Oxford and PEPECO Technical Engineering.
Afternoon: Dedicated session with companies on innovation pipelines and research-to-business pathways.

🔹 Day 4 – Funding Opportunities & Visit
Talks on funding for young researchers and European infrastructures supporting marine biotech.
Team exercise: How to write a successful proposal.
